I am a widow of a United States Air Force veteran. We were very happily married for 27 years. On September 28, 2010, he became a “22 a Day” — he took his life. He served in the Air Force for 22 years and retired as a Technical Sergeant (Tech. Sgt.).
I am the mother of a grown son who is now on his own. In addition to being a wife and a mother, I have been an RN, BSN for 31 years. I have worked in several areas of nursing, from psychiatric nursing to critical care. Presently, I am a Clinical Director for Home Care Services, where I care for veterans and other patients.
My passion is the veteran population—caring for them both medically and mentally. I give my full attention to any veteran who reaches out and needs someone to talk to or someone to just listen. After my husband’s death, talking with and helping veterans has helped me more than they will ever know.
